NBC UNIVERSAL CABLE DELIVERS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE THIS APRIL ON
PAY-PER-VIEW AND ON DEMAND
Englewood Cliffs, NJ (March 24, 2005) –
NBC Universal Cable premieres a wide variety of titles this April on
pay-per-view and on demand: 'The Motorcycle Diaries,' 'Bridget Jones: The
Edge of Reason,' 'Balto 3: Wings of Change,' and 'Jerry Springer
Uncensored: Undressed and Unleashed 2.'
Premiering April 1 is the critically acclaimed film 'The Motorcycle
Diaries,' which won an Academy Award® in 2005 for Best Song, and was
nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay. Based on the journals of medical
student Ernesto Guevara (later known to the world as Che Guevara) and his
friend Alberto Granado, and featuring stunning cinematography, director
Walter Salles' film tells the inspiring true story of Ernesto and
Alberto's motorcycle journey through Latin America in the early 1950s. It
stars Gael García Bernal and Rodrigo de la Serna as the two young
travelers.
Also making its debut on April 1, 'Jerry Springer Uncensored: Undressed
and Unleashed 2' promises more hot action too extreme for television.
Jerry Springer's latest mature talk-show event was taped exclusively
in-studio for pay-per-view and on demand.
On April 2, the animated 'Balto 3: Wings of Change' joins the series'
two previous installments on VOD. The animated family film recounts the
adventures of half-wolf, half-husky hero Balto in the frozen Alaskan
wilderness. Featuring the all-star voice talents of Sean Astin, Keith
Carradine and more.
April 21 marks the premiere of 'Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason' in a
double-feature with 'Notting Hill.' In 'The Edge of Reason,' Oscar®
winner Renée Zellweger, Hugh Grant and Colin Firth reprise their roles
from the original worldwide hit comedy 'Bridget Jones' Diary.' This time
around, Bridget's seemingly perfect relationship with lawyer Mark Darcy
(Firth) is put to the test, with hilarious results, by Mark's gorgeous new
intern, as well as the return of her former flame, the womanizing Daniel
Cleaver (Grant).
